General questions

All visitors to Krishna Valley should buy an entry ticket – Guesthouse guests included.

Exceptions are Krishna Valley residents and immediate family, Somogyvamos residents, MKTHK volunteers and missionaries, Counselling system members and Nama Hatta members.

Tickets can be bought on our website while booking your room. They can also be bought upon arrival at the reception where the elephants are located.

Krishna Valley and its guesthouses are open to visit all year round.

Please note, no parking at the accommodation – Parking only in Gauranga square in front of the temple.

Kamala Guesthouse
There is parking available in the garden.

Our restaurant awaits Krishna Valley’s guests with a wide variety of meals. Choose either the buffet style meals or some of our snacks and desserts.

Temple Kitchen
Meals cooked daily for the resident volunteers of Krishna Valley. You are also invited to join. If you wish to dine here please contact the reception

Lunch served at 13:00.

Breakfast: 650 Ft
Lunch: 1250 Ft
*Paper plates, cups and cutlary is provided at an additional cost.

Kamala Snackbar
Choose one of our four menus for breakfast at the time of your reservation or upon arrival at the guesthouse and it will be delivered straight to your room.

Opening Hours:
Open all year round.
Breakfast delivered at 8:30.
Dinner is delivered at 18:30 in the evening.

Breakfast options:
Breakfast options: Grilled sandwich breakfast (1210 Ft), scrambled cheese breakfast (1320 Ft), sweet pastry breakfast (1320 Ft) or Gluten Free Breakfast (1490 Ft).

Dinner options:
Italian Dinner (1820 Ft), Small Indian Dinner (1820 Ft) vagy Large Indian Dinner(2420 Ft).

Deity department
The meals cooked for the Deities on the altar are known for their exquisite teste and their special spiritual potency.

Guests are welcome to order up to 5 plates of each the breakfast and dinner meals and up to 10 plates of the lunch meal. Please make your orders through us and we will arrange for your plates to be ready for pickup at the temple building. (Contact us for more information: +36 (30) 2399265)

Our Guesthouse, being part of our spiritual farm community are subject to the rules of conduct at a holy place. The inhabitants of Krishna-Valley are striving to live a clean, close to nature life. We also ask our guests to pay attention to this during their stay in the Krishna Valley guesthouses and to help the families and residents, as well as their visiting companions, who wish to relax and recharge.

  • avoid smoking, alcohol and drug abuse
  • avoid gambling
  • practice the principle of celibacy at the place of pilgrimage, which is to refrain from sexual activity
  • avoid eating meat, fish, egg products, onions and mushrooms

For the rest of our guests, please be quiet during the evening and early hours

During your stay, it is very important that you follow the instructions below!

  • The property will be occupied from 14:00 to 17:00 on the day of arrival and will be available from 10:00 on departure.
  • When booking a room, please complete the guestbook with your official document.
  • The key to the room provides access to the building and the room.
  • When making a reservation, our online booking system will show you the rooms that guests can use and provide information about the services they provide.
  • Children under 6 years old are not required to pay for their stay if they sleep in the same bed as their parents.
  • The accommodation fee includes utilities and other overheads. Bed linen is provided for our guests. Bed linen is provided for our guests.
  • Pets are not allowed in the guest room!
  • Disclaimer: Neither the owner nor the operator, Venu Kft. are responsible for the loss or damage of any valuables ​​taken to or left at the accommodation.
  • In the event of loss of the keys provided, guests are required to inform the property immediately and reimburse the hotel for the price and lock replacement.
  • Equipment in the apartment or room may only be rearranged with the prior consent of the owner.
  • The proprietor and operator Venu kft. shall not be liable for any material damage or accident resulting from improper use.
  • Damage caused by guests due to improper use shall be compensated directly by the guest to the property.
  • Guests are required to observe the house’s policies, with particular regard to morning, evening and night hours.
  • If you have any problems with your room or guesthouse during your stay, please inform the property immediately! We cannot accept subsequent complaints.
  • We kindly ask our guests to give the key to the guesthouse receptionist when leaving the room!

When you arrive in Somogyvámos please proceed to the Kamala Guesthouse located at Fő utca 15. Our guesthouses reception is located inside this main building and you can receive your keys there as well as instructions on how to find your room.

Anyone can take part in the temple programs regardless of gender, age or ethnicity.

We offer daily guided tours for any of our guests are the temple building. The tour guide will be happy to answer any of your questions so please don’t be shy to ask.

Getting Here

From Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest:
The easiest way to come from the airport is by the Krishna Valley taxi service, please check our Amenities page for more information. For up to date prices and in order to reserve your tayi service please contact our receptionist.

Travelling by train:
Nearest station: Fonyód (train from Budapest Deli) or Somogyvár (train from Fonyód).

Cost: 10-15 EUR from Budapest
Once there, you will need to be picked up. Please, contact the recepsion for up to date prices and to book a taxi. Please try to inform us in advance of your estimated time of arrival, since cars are not always available for this service.

Travelling by bus:
You can take a bus from Budapest Nepliget Bus station to Öreglak, then take a bus to Somogyvár and from there take a bus to Somogyvámos. Alternatively, pickup from Öreglak or Somogyvár can be arranged. Please contact us for more information.

Transfer services:
We will be happy to arrange a car ride for you from Budapest or Fonyód using our taxi service. For more information, please check our Amenities page.

If you come with your own car or a rented car:

If you are coming from the north, east or west: you should follow the signs towards lake Balaton. When you reach Fonyód town, follow the signs towards Lengyeltóti, then Somogyvár. When in Somogyvár take a left to Somogyvámos and follow the road signs of where to locate us. Krishna Valley is 23 kms from Fonyód.

If you approach the Farm from Budapest on M7, you have to leave at junction 150 and follow the signs towards Lengyeltóti (Kaposvár), then Somogyvár. When in Somogyvár take a left to Somogyvámos.

If you come from the south: you go to Kaposvár, from there follow the signs towards Fonyód. When you reach Somogyvár, take a right turn to Somogyvámos. Krishna Valley is 26 kms from Kaposvár.

There are 2 petrol stations in the 15 km area of the Farm and they are open from 6am-6pm.
One is located in Somogyvár and the other is in Lengyeltóti.

!! Please take note that some maps and GPS system indicate that you can go to Somogyvamos from road number 67 via Gamás and Vityapusztá

PLEASE IGNORE – it is just a dirt track and in many places impassable!!

  • Budapest’s climate is characterised by warm sunny summers and short cold winters.
  • The average temperature in summer is around 25 degrees Celsius (77° Fahrenheit)
  • During the months May, June, July, August and September you will experience pleasant weather with a nice average temperature.
  • On average, the warmest month is August.
  • On average, the coolest month is January.
  • June is the wettest month. This month should be avoided if you don’t like too much rain.
  • October is the driest month.

Money matters

Starting 2021 we will be able to accept Szép Cards to pay for your accommodation. Unfortunately we are still not able to accept Erzsébet Coupons for this purpose.

For each online reservation 50% of the amount due must be paid as a deposit. Deposit can be paid by Paypal, credit card or bank transfer (details below). !! NOTE !! Deposit payment must take place 7 days from the date of the online reservation – otherwise the reservation will automatically be cancelled. You can pay the reminder of the Krishna Valley accommodation fee by cash or credit card on arrival.

If you are coming from abroad then you should make sure you change money before you come to Krishna Valley. We will not be able to change your foreign exchange here.
You will not be able to buy things from the shops locally in foreign currency.

Be aware, we have no currency exchange locally. The closest would be located in the hallway of Tesco’s in either Kaposvar or Balatonboglar, both about 30 minutes away.
There are also ATM machines in the next village, Somogyvar where you can withdraw Hungarin forints.

If you have a Krishna Valley discount card then you are entitled to a 5% discount on accommodation at Gurdeva Bhavana, and the Kamala guesthouse.

Besides coming to see Sri Sri Radha Krishna on the altar in Their temple, there are lots of things to see and do.

If you are coming in a group and are not familiar with our lifestyle, then be sure to contact the tourist guides who can tell you of what programs are available.

Whilst here there are many walks & gardens to explore, vegetable gardens, the school buildings. Make sure you go and see Krishna’s cows in the cow sheds we can guarantee you will never have seen a cow shed like it 🙂

Here you can find many Indian traditional items such as clothes and other artifacts as well as farm produced products and vegan cosmetics and soaps.
